Napoli have now joined Inter and AC Milan in the quarterfinals of the UCL, making European history for Serie A clubs

Victor Osimhen scored twice as Napoli eased past Eintracht Frankfurt to reach the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals after a routine 3-0 win on Wednesday.

In doing so, Napoli joined Inter and AC Milan, who had already qualified for the quarterfinals, to make a bit of Serie A history in the Champions League.

Inter qualified after two tough legs against Porto that were settled by a late Romelu Lukaku goal at the San Siro, while Milan qualified in a similar way, beating Tottenham 1-0 over two legs as well.

Though both wins were not as flashy as Napoli’s 5-0 win over Frankfurt, they still helped the three teams make UCL history for Italian clubs, by becoming the first three to reach the UCL quarterfinal in the same season since the 2005/2006 season.

Inter and AC Milan were also among the last set of three Italian teams to play in the UCL quarterfinal alongside Juventus, with the two Milan teams actually facing each other in the quarterfinal of the 2004/05 season.

Napoli, on the other hand, have now reached uncharted territory, making the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League for the first time in the club's history thanks to an amazing performance against Frankfurt, and three goals over two legs for Osimhen.
