One of Jose Mourinho’s most prolific forwards is departing Fenerbahce this summer, and a return to Serie A is expected.
Edin Dzeko is reportedly on the verge of returning to Serie A, with Fiorentina now considered the favourites to sign the former Fenerbahce striker.
The 39-year-old, who scored 21 times in 53 games in all competitions last season, is available as a free agent after his contract with the Turkish giants expired.

Dzeko favours Fiorentina transfer
According to Fabrizio Romano, the veteran centre-forward favours a transfer for Fiorentina.
Bologna had initially made a push with a proposal for the 39-year-old; however, the Viola have since intensified their efforts, reportedly surging into the lead in the race for his signature.
Romano notes that a significant factor tempting Dzeko towards Fiorentina is the anticipated arrival of Stefano Pioli as the club's new head coach, as the former Milan head coach’s imminent appointment is understood to be an important draw for the experienced striker.
Dzeko is among the most well-travelled players in European football, having represented clubs such as Wolfsburg, Manchester City, Roma and Inter Milan before his spell in Turkey.
What's next for Fiorentina?
Fiorentina, who finished sixth in Serie A, return to pre-season training in July.
