Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has reacted to his side's potential matchup in the next round of the UEFA Champions League.

Manchester City's Champions League campaign has been brought back to life after a 3-1 win over Club Brugge on Wednesday night.

The victory ensured City's progression to the play-offs, where they will face either Real Madrid or Bayern Munich.

City's manager, Pep Guardiola, acknowledged the difficulty of facing either of the two teams, considering his side's inconsistent form.

"Going to Bayern Munich or Real Madrid will be really tough," he admitted.

However, the ex-Barcelona boss remains optimistic, citing the potential return of key players and new signings.

“But it’s in two weeks and in two weeks we have a few players back, the new signings back, so hopefully we can do two good games.

“They are better than us right now, both of them, but I don’t know what’s going to happen in the next two weeks.

“Ruben [Dias] and Nathan [Aké] are back, Jérémy [Doku], Oscar [Bobb], new signings. If everybody comes back, we can compete.”
