Ronaldo could be plotting a return to Man United after previously hinting at his ambition to potentially buy the Premier League club.

Cristiano Ronaldo has once again set tongues wagging after his luxury Bombardier Global Express 6500 private jet, worth a staggering ₦80 billion (£61 million), was spotted at Manchester Airport.

The sleek aircraft, featuring Ronaldo’s CR7 logo and his signature goal celebration silhouette, touched down in the city where he once reigned supreme as a Manchester United icon.

The sighting was first revealed by Manchester Airport’s official X account, which posted an image of the jet on the runway, cheekily captioned with a heart-eyes and side-eye emoji—a post that immediately sent fans into a frenzy.

Ronaldo’s whereabouts remain unclear

While speculation is rife about Ronaldo’s presence, it remains unclear if the five-time Ballon d’Or winner was actually on board.

The Al Nassr captain was last seen in action on Thursday night, starring in his club’s 3-2 win over Al-Ahli in the Saudi Pro League before being subbed off in the second half.

He is also expected to feature when Al Nassr face Persepolis FC in the AFC Champions League on Monday, making it highly unlikely that he made a surprise return to England.

Still, that hasn’t stopped wild speculation among fans, with many questioning whether Ronaldo’s recent comments about Manchester United’s ongoing struggles might hint at a more significant connection.

Despite his bitter fallout with ex-manager Erik ten Hag that led to his contract termination in late 2022, Ronaldo has never shied away from voicing his opinion on United’s decline.

Speaking at the Dubai Globe Soccer Awards, he delivered a scathing analysis of the club’s problems:

"The Premier League is the most difficult league in the world. All the teams are good, all the teams fight, all the teams run, all the teams are strong. Football is different right now. There are no easy games anymore."

He continued with an analogy comparing United to a fish tank, saying:

"They need, I said this one year and a half ago, and I will continue to say it: The problem is not the coaches… If you have the fish inside and he's sick, and you take him out and fix the problem, but you put him back in the aquarium, he will be sick again. The problem of Manchester United is the same. The problem is not always the coach. It’s much more than that."

In a bold statement, Ronaldo even suggested that if he were in charge, he would take drastic action to fix United’s issues:

"If I were the owner of the club, I would make things clear and adjust things that are bad there."

With Erik ten Hag’s sacking in October after a disastrous start to the season, United brought in Rúben Amorim, a former teammate of Ronaldo from the Portugal national team.

Amorim, just nine days older than CR7, played alongside him between 2010 and 2014 before transitioning into management.
