Piers Morgan has told Mikel Arteta to stop making excuses after Arsenal's Carabao Cup exit to Newcastle.
TV personality Piers Morgan has launched a scathing attack on Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, accusing him of making "ridiculous excuses" following the Gunners' Carabao Cup semi-final defeat to Newcastle United.
Arteta's men were eliminated from the competition with a 4-0 aggregate loss, and the Spanish manager cited the team's hectic schedule as a factor in their defeat.
"We have played so many games, every three days, and we knew that would be a high intensity. Emotionally it was a different game to believe we could get there. And before we expected, the game got away from us," Arteta explained.

Spineless Arsenal see their trophy hope slim-fitted as Newcastle complete Carabao semifinal demolition
Arsenal have been eliminated from the Carabao Cup after suffering a defeat against Newcastle at St. James Park.
However, Morgan was unimpressed with Arteta's reasoning.
"Arteta deserves this. He needs to stop making ridiculous excuses and accept responsibility for not buying a proper striker," Morgan wrote on X.
"A decision that means we once again won't win a trophy this season."
Morgan's criticism comes after Arsenal's failure to sign a top striker during the January transfer window.
The Gunners will now focus on their Premier League and UEFA Champions League campaigns.
