The title adds to the senior men’s AFCON won in 2021, the Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations last year in Mozambique, CHAN earlier this year in the same stadium and the Under-20 in Egypt in March.

Senegal has once again proven their dominance on the continent with their fifth African title after coming from behind to beat Morocco 2-1 in the final of the Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations on Thursday in Algeria.

The Teranga Cubs fell behind the Moroccans through Ait Boudla’s header in the 14th minute.

With ten minutes left on the clock, Moroccan skipper and goal scorer Boudlal turned from a hero to villain after handling the ball inside the area, with the referee awarding a penalty after reviewing VAR.

Fallou Diouf sent the ball in for the equalizer as the West Africans launched their assault for the winner.

Mamadou Savane was the hero of the night, heading from a corner four minutes later to seal the victory for Senegal.

Burkina Faso had earlier on beat Mali to the bronze medal as they joined the two finalists to represent the continent at the Under-17 World Cup later in the year.

Senegal’s Amara Diouf took the golden boot for his five goals as his goalkeeper Serigne Diouf won the golden glove.

Burkina Faso’s Souleymane Alio was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player.
