Vinicius Junior's latest decision would have excited his admirers in the Saudi Pro League

Vinicius Jr.’s future at Real Madrid has taken an intriguing turn after the Brazilian superstar reportedly rejected the club’s first renewal offer.

The 24-year-old winger, whose contract runs until 2027, remains a key figure at the Bernabéu, but growing interest from Saudi Arabia has added uncertainty to his long-term stay.

Vinicius rejects first offer amid Saudi interest

Real Madrid recently held a meeting with Vinicius’ representatives in mid-January, offering an improved salary to secure his future.

However, the proposal was turned down by his camp, with a family member also present at the discussions at Valdebebas.

Despite the rejection, negotiations are expected to continue, as Vinicius has publicly expressed his desire to stay in Madrid for many more years.

The winger, who signed his last contract in 2022 with a staggering €1 billion release clause, currently earns around €15 million net per season, including bonuses.

Saudi Arabian clubs, who have been closely monitoring the situation, are reportedly eager to lure the Brazilian star with a massive financial package. While Real Madrid remain optimistic about reaching an agreement, the growing interest from the Middle East adds an unexpected twist to the saga.

Real Madrid confident despite contract setback

Since joining Real Madrid in 2018, Vinicius has become one of the club’s most influential players, scoring 101 goals and providing 83 assists in 293 appearances.

His rise to stardom has made him a priority for Los Blancos, who are keen to extend his stay beyond 2027.

In a recent interview, Vinicius reaffirmed his commitment to the club, saying, “Making history at this club is very important to me, and I hope I can continue at Real Madrid for many more years.”

With his public stance in favour of staying, Real Madrid remain confident of striking a new deal.

However, the rejection of their first offer suggests negotiations could be more complicated than initially expected, especially with Saudi clubs ready to pounce if talks break down.
