Napoli are planning an ambitious summer recruitment drive following their Champions League return and anticipated sale of Victor Osimhen.

Napoli are reportedly considering a move for Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez as part of a significant summer recruitment drive.

The Serie A leaders, who have already secured Champions League qualification for next season, are looking to bolster their squad after a season without European or domestic cup involvement since December.

With Victor Osimhen’s future expected to be away from Naples, the Partenopei could use the funds from the Nigerian’s sale and bounty from returning to Europe’s premier club competition to acquire a higher calibre of player.

According to reports in Italy, Napoli are keen on a substantial overhaul in the upcoming transfer window.

Among their targets is Manchester City captain Kevin De Bruyne, for whom they are said to be preparing a lucrative two-year contract offer.

However, Corriere dello Sport via Football Italia suggests that Nunez is another Premier League player on the Partenopei’s radar.

The Uruguayan international has not been a consistent starter under Arne Slot at Liverpool and could potentially be allowed to leave if a suitable bid is made.

Napoli are reportedly assessing various attacking profiles, with Porto's Samu Omorodion, Paris Saint-Germain's Lee Kang-in and Lille free agent Jonathan David also cited as potential targets.
