Report: Arsenal enter race for Bayern Munich contract rebel

Arsenal have reportedly sent a formal proposal to a Bayern Munich contract rebel.

Arsenal have reportedly contacted Joshua Kimmich to discuss signing the Germany international when his Bayern Munich contract expires this summer.

Kimmich, like Alphonso Davies (resolved) and Jamaal Musiala (talks advancing), has been in negotiations with Bayern Munich over a renewal, as his current deal expires at the end of the season

However, negotiations have hit a snag, as the Bavarians are unwilling to match the midfielder’s ask, reportedly only willing to continue paying him his current salary until 2028 (the expiry date of the proposed renewal), or even less.

Arsenal's interest

With less than six months left in his current deal, Kimmich is free to negotiate with other clubs, and according to Florian Plettenberg, he has been approached by two foreign sides, one of which is Arsenal.

According to the report, the Gunners are keen on replacing Jorginho with Kimmich, and they have sent a written proposal to his representatives, underscoring the intensity of their desire.

While he is currently exploring an exit, the German is believed to be open to continuing at Bavaria and, as such, has informed the club of the proposal he has from suitors. The negotiations are still ongoing, and the 32-time champions could well keep their prized asset. However, Arsenal are waiting on the prowl should they fail to seal an extension with Kimmich soon.
