PSG will play Inter Milan in the Champions League final in Munich, after defeating English oppositions.

A big striker who once played in Turkey for Galatasaray has claimed that Paris Saint-Germain’s ouster of English Premier side Arsenal is a statement win.

Paris Saint-Germain under the guidance of Luis Enrique made light walk of Arsenal in a two-legged affair, winning 0-1 away at the Emirate and 2-1 at the Parc des Princes, to run out 3-1 winners on aggregate.

Before seeing off Mikel Arteta’s men, PSG had defeated Liverpool on penalties in the second round and also triumphed over Aston Villa in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League.

Following PSG’s triumph over English oppositions, Bafétimbi Gomis believes that the French club’s progression is a good one for Ligue 1.

What Bafétimbi Gomis said

During an exclusive interview with Flashcore, Gomis said Ligue 1 is a very good league and it has been pivotal with supplying players for other European clubs.

"Ligue 1 is a very good league. We make many good players for the big clubs in the Premier League, and around the world like in Real Madrid.

"When you see Real Madrid today, you see how much the French people are important in the organisation.

Bafétimbi Gomis was referencing Kylian Mbappe’s recent move to Real Madrid. Since his free transfer from PSG, the Frenchman has scored 35 goals and provided 4 assists in 51 appearances across all competitions.

Gomis stated that although French clubs are limited in terms of finance, they have had to work smarter.

"We have to continue like that. Of course, we don't have the same budget as the big clubs, but we work in a clever way and with good organisation,” he said.

Going into the UEFA Champions League final, Gomis believes that PSG has what it takes to win the trophy.

"Now we have Paris Saint-Germain making a statement in Europe, maybe they will be champions. Their success in the Champions League this season is very important for our league," he said.

PSG have already won the Ligue 1 and the French Supercup. Luis Enrique's side are also in the running for the UEFA Champions League where they will face Inter Milan in the final on May 31st.
