The women's league will return after the two weeks break on March 1

The organizers of the Nigeria Women's Football League (NWFL) have announced two breaks for the 2023 general elections.

The league resumed from the midseason break for match days eight and nine before embarking on an election break.

Presidential election holds February 25.

The 2023 Nigerian presidential election will be held on February 25 to elect the president and vice president of Nigeria.

The four Major Presidential Candidate

Going into the election, there are four major candidates: the candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party and Atiku Abubakar.

Labour candidate Peter Obi and the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso.

Match day 10 and 11 gets new date

According to the NWFL, Matchdays 10 and 11 will be played on March 1 and 15, respectively.

“The NWFL wishes to announce a two-week break after the #NWFLPremiership Matchday due to the presidential and governorship elections holding across the country. For this, MD 10 and 11 will now hold on March 1 and March 15 respectively.” NWFL tweeted.

Delta Queens is going into the break unbeaten, while Edo Queens reclaimed the top spot in Group A.
