Former Super Eagles star has named his top five for 2025 Ballon d'Or

Former Super Eagles head coach Sunday Oliseh has revealed his early picks for the prestigious 2025 Ballon d’Or award, naming a dynamic quintet of attacking talents.

Taking to social media, Oliseh identified Arsenal's in-form winger Bukayo Saka, Barcelona's exciting young duo Lamine Yamal and Raphinha, and Paris Saint-Germain's influential pair Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Ousmane Dembele as his top contenders for the coveted individual prize.

Oliseh lauded the exceptional qualities of each player, stating, “Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has so much vision, Raphinha makes it look effortlessly easy, Saka is so nimble-footed it is beautiful, Dembele is for me in company of Lamine Yamal — Ballon d’Or sure candidates.”

The former Ajax and Juventus midfielder further expressed his delight in watching these players, claiming they have reignited his passion for the game.

He added, “I am finally able to be fixated on the TV for ninety minutes thanks to these kinda players.

Meanwhile, Sunday Oliseh snubbed Mohamed Salah, who was an early contender for the Ballon d'or award before Liverpool was kicked out of the Champions League by PSG.

Salah has been impressive for Liverpool this season, scoring 28 goals and 18 assists in 35 games to lead the Merseyside club to the EPL title.
