Premier League giants Manchester City are reportedly keen on signing Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.
Marc-André ter Stegen’s future at Barcelona is uncertain following the signing of Joan Garcia from Espanyol. The German goalkeeper is determined to compete for his spot, but reports suggest Barcelona would prefer he leaves this summer.

German legend Lothar Matthäus weighed in, acknowledging the challenging situation for ter Stegen.

“Marc-André ter Stegen’s situation at FC Barcelona is uncomfortable for him. He has returned in good form after a long injury and, especially in the Nations League against France, demonstrated that he is still a world-class goalkeeper at 33,” Matthäus told Sky Sport Germany.
“But Joan Garcia, whom Barca signed from Espanyol, is nine years younger. He is already part of the Spanish national team squad and is expected to play for them in the future.”
Ter Stegen has been linked with Galatasaray, but Matthäus believes Manchester City could be a strong fit.
“Galatasaray Istanbul would be one of several options. Galatasaray has underlined its ambitions by signing Sané and will play in the Champions League next season,” he added.
“Six English clubs will be playing there next season, and none of them have a goalkeeper strong enough to say, ‘Ter Stegen wouldn’t be a reinforcement for us.’ I don’t know what Manchester City’s plans are, but I think they’re not too happy with Ederson."
Ederson has faced criticism in recent days, especially after making several errors in the club's defeat to Al Hilal.
