Harry Kane's release clause

The 31-year-old left his boyhood club, Tottenham, and a healthy likelihood of becoming the Premier League’s all-time top scorer, in pursuit of silverware, which has eluded him throughout his senior career.

A report from Goal revealed that Kane had a release clause worked into his deal, which could help facilitate a return to the Premier League. Per the report, he will have a €65 million clause next January, and Babbel wants the Red Devils and Tottenham to jump on the opportunity.

What he said

"If I was Manchester United, I’d be doing everything to sign Harry Kane because of this £67 million release clause,” Babbel said, per Wette.de. “At Manchester United, it’s not acceptable what is currently going on at that club.

"This is one of the biggest clubs in the world, and for how many years now have they been struggling? It shouldn’t be possible. They spend so much money too. Every year they seem to be getting worse and still all while spending much more money than before.

"If I was Manchester United, I would be splashing out on signing Harry Kane because he is a quality player and he will score goals, and if you have a striker up front scoring goals, then your chances of winning games are much bigger. If I was Manchester United, I’d do everything possible to sign him.

"If I’m Tottenham, I’d be trying to do everything to bring him back to the club too. Since Harry left Tottenham, they’ve been struggling. They want to fight for the Champions League places, but now they need to make sure that they are not relegated instead!

“Harry is a player that makes other players better. If you see Son Heung-min with Harry Kane and you see Son now without him, he’s a different player. He was so much better when Harry was at Tottenham.”
