Liverpool's Mohamed Salah recently commented on his new two-year contract with the club and explained why he signed a new deal.

Salah's future has been a major talking point this season, as his previous contract was due to expire in the summer.

However, he had decided to remain at the club after Liverpool announced that he had signed a two-year contract extension.

The forward remains essential to Arne Slot's side as they approach the Premier League title, having secured eight trophies at Anfield.

Fenway Sports Group, the owners of Liverpool, broke their usual policy of not offering new contracts to players over 30 by giving him a new deal.

Since joining Liverpool from Roma in 2017, the Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah has scored an impressive 243 goals in 394 games, solidifying his status as one of the club's all-time greats.
