Man United Co-Owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe Slammed Over ‘Mad’ Decisions Since Old Trafford Takeover
Manchester United boss Sir Jim Ratfcliffe has been criticized for his 'dysfunctional' management of the club since taking over football operations at Old Trafford in early 2024.
What Eriksen said
The Dane played his final game for the Red Devils at home, contributing to a 2-0 victory over Aston Villa with a penalty goal.
"Considering how the season went, I think it was the perfect send-off for my three years here at Manchester United. It's been special, and leaving with a goal and seeing the smiles on everyone's faces was great," he told the club's channel, as reported by Abola, highlighting his two trophies – the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup.

"Many good memories, many special games, many special people. Two trophies, among a few finals. Unfortunately, we weren't always on the winning side, but I really enjoyed my time and I'm grateful to the club, the fans, my teammates, everyone. My family and I have felt at home since day one, so it's a special place and it's hard to leave," he said, thanking the fans for their tremendous support despite the challenges.
"The first home games when I arrived at Old Trafford were special. I played a few times as an opponent, but playing here at home was something else. Thank you very much, they showed it this season and I think some players were surprised how good the fans were in a difficult, difficult season.
"They've stuck by us and have done so these past years, supporting us despite the circumstances, so the players are lucky to have this fan base. They will play for the fans, as always. I hope there are good times ahead, just like the manager said, with the fans on their side, I'm sure they'll have a bright future," he assured, expressing confidence in manager Ruben Amorim.
"I always try to show the same on the pitch, to show my quality. United is a big club, so being here was special, but at United you always have to prove yourself, every game, and the pressure is demanding. But I enjoyed that part too, seeing how you can overcome it, mentally as well, it's something I'm proud of," he explained, recalling the most difficult moment of his life.
"I never thought that when I left Tottenham I would return to England, let alone play for Manchester United. After everything I’ve been through, it's the icing on the cake for my career in this country. Yes, as a person, of course, football has always been important, but life is the most important thing and I realised that after what happened.
"I love playing football and I was lucky to reach the level I've reached today, and playing for United is something I will cherish forever. I also proved that even if you're going through a difficult period, you can turn things around and even in the most complicated moments there will be something positive with time, and it will be the same here with this club.
"Time will heal a lot of things and that's how you will recover. I proved that I'm a footballer and not the person who had a cardiac arrest, and that's something I'm very proud of," he concluded.
