Rooney and Levin used to play together at Wazito, and they are now reunited at Gor Mahia.

Levin Odhiambo has been reunited with Harambee Stars hot-shot Rooney Onyango at Gor Mahia for the first time since their days at the now-defunct Wazito playing under Francis Kimanzi.

Although the club struggled for form, one thing remains clear, that in hindsight, some of the talent that were signed were absolutely of high potential, and that includes the pair, who have reunited at Gor Mahia with the aim of helping Johnathan McKinstry achieve his target of winning a second consecutive title.

Known for their crossing abilities, both players will add a different dimension to the team, with Benson Omala set to feast from their crosses to score more goals and help them win the title.

Levin has yet to make his debut for the club, but he will be looking forward to getting some minutes by the end of the season, but he has expressed excitement about being part of the quest to make history, and well as how his partner-in-crime Rooney helped in engineering his move to the club.

“It will be good because he played a huge role in me moving to Gor Mahia. I have been speaking to him and I believe it will be very good to play with him again,” Odhiambo told Pulse Sports.

“I am excited to work with him again and I think we will continue doing what we were doing together. That is, rest assured.”

Levin has been playing as a left winger towards the end of his career at Tusker, in a similar role to how Engin Firat uses Rooney Onyango as a right winger for Harambee Stars, even if he plays naturally as a right back for Gor Mahia.

The idea is to maximize on their attacking capabilities rather than restrict them to defending, something which in Levin’s case, is not his strong hod.

However, the former Mathare United man is determined to prove his worth in any position McKinstry will play him in.

“I am technically gifted, so any position I will be given, be it offensive or full back, I will give my 100 percent to the cause.”

At the begining of the season, Levin was absent from the Tusker camp as he had left to undergo trials with two Swedish clubs, and he has now revealed what he learnt in his time there.

“ I gained a lot of exposure. They take football very seriously there. People live football, which is a career there.

“It was a good experience and I gained a lot. I am now sharpening some of my skills to get a chance to return there. I still have a dream and it is going to happen soon.”

“My target is to win the league which is big for me. I will give my best and I will do my thing.”

With winning the league as his primary goal, Odhiambo remains focused on giving his all to Gor Mahia's cause. As he continues to sharpen his skills and pursue his dreams, his determination to make a significant impact on the pitch is unwavering.
