Manchester United's loss could be Galatasaray's gain this summer
Galatasaray are wasting no time in trying to secure Victor Osimhen’s future after Manchester United and Arsenal reportedly pulled out of the race.
With the Nigerian forward lighting up Turkish football, the Super Lig champions are now in pole position for what could be the signing of the summer.
Galatasaray go all-in for Nigerian superstar
Galatasaray are reportedly going full throttle in their mission to sign Victor Osimhen on a permanent deal, as other teams appear to be pulling out of their pursuit of the Nigerian forward.
With both Arsenal and Manchester United reportedly cooling their interest in the Nigerian striker, the Turkish champions are ready to pounce.
Osimhen, who has been on fire this season with 30 goals and 7 assists in 35 matches, is no longer just a loan sensation; he has become the face of Galatasaray this season.
According to Turkish outlet Hurriyet, club officials have already invited Osimhen to a formal meeting in the coming days to discuss a long-term contract and are reportedly ready to offer him a jaw-dropping €10 million annual salary and a substantial fee to activate his €75 million release clause from Napoli.
Manchester United shift focus, open door for Galatasaray
While Galatasaray push forward with intent, Manchester United have reportedly decided to pivot. Despite being linked with Osimhen for months, reports now suggest the Premier League giants have set their sights on Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap as their next striker.
The 21-year-old would be significantly cheaper, with a £30 million release clause if Ipswich are relegated, and represents more of a long-term project.
According to NBC Sports’ David Ornstein, Manchester United’s summer plans include signing both a number 10 and a striker, but Osimhen is no longer a priority.
That sudden change of course has opened the door wide for Galatasaray. With Arsenal also backing off, the Turkish giants now find themselves with a free run in a transfer race involving a player of Osimhen’s calibre.
Although clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Juventus are still monitoring the situation, none have made formal moves.
