Nigeria and Super Eagles legend Austin Jay Jay Okocha was the cynosure of all eyes alongside two other African superstars in the capital of Somalia, Mogadishu.

Jay Jay Okocha was joined by former Barcelona striker Samuel Eto’o and Togo’s Emmanuel Adebayor to bring joy to football fans in Somalia.

The trio participated in an exhibition match against Somali national legends on Tuesday as part of the "Legendary Peace Tour,".

As reported by TRT Afrika, the Peace Tour is a FIFA-backed initiative aimed at marking Somalia’s return to international football and symbolising peace after decades of insecurity.

The match, held in Mogadishu, was the first high-profile football event in Somalia in three decades.

The national stadium, which had been heavily damaged due to years of conflict and occupation by Al-Shabaab terrorists and African Union peacekeepers, was restored to host this historic occasion.

The international team, led by the three African football icons, secured an 8-4 victory against a team of local Somali players.

The event was described as a "historic day" by Somalia’s sports ministry and is seen as a significant step towards restoring the country’s sporting image and enabling it to host international fixtures once again.
