Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface is on the brink of a surprising transfer from Bayer Leverkusen to join Cristiano Ronaldo at Al Nassr, and the move has ignited a heated debate among fans and Nigerian football experts.

Boniface's potential switch to the Saudi Pro League has become a hot topic, particularly given his history of injuries, including two significant tears.

Pooja Media highlighted this aspect in a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “For a player who has suffered two ACLs? We are clearly not in his shoes.”

This comment shows the complexities surrounding player decisions in the face of lucrative offers, especially for someone like Boniface, who has endured substantial setbacks.

The 24-year-old striker's move is reportedly fueled by a hefty financial package that would see him join one of the highest-earning squads in football, alongside stars like Ronaldo. Despite skepticism from some quarters regarding the wisdom of leaving Europe’s top leagues for the Saudi Pro League, Boniface’s situation is unique.

He has missed over 620 days of competitive football due to injuries, which makes the prospect of financial security particularly appealing.

As negotiations progress, Boniface’s impressive performance record at Bayer Leverkusen—where he scored eight goals in 15 matches this season—has not gone unnoticed.

His absence from training sessions ahead of crucial fixtures has further intensified speculation about his future, especially after been sidelined again since December last year.

The impending transfer not only represents a significant financial opportunity for Boniface but also raises more questions about player priorities in modern football.
