Former Super Eagles star Obafemi Martins has advised Samuel Chukwueze to leave AC Milan

Former Super Eagles Obafemi Martins has suggested that Samuel Chukwueze should consider leaving AC Milan this summer to find regular playing time.

Chukwueze, who joined the Italian club from Villarreal in 2023, has struggled to make a consistent impact, scoring just four times in 47 league appearances.

What Martins said

Martins believes that Chukwueze needs to find a team where he can play regularly to regain his rhythm and confidence.

"The Saudi Pro League is becoming increasingly competitive," Martins told Africa Foot.

He continued, "If a good offer comes along, why not? The main thing is for him to play and become a regular starter again. Rhythm and confidence are essential for him."

Martins believes the Premier League is the perfect fit for Samuel Chukwueze's playing style and thinks a move to the Premier League could be the key to relaunching his career.

A move to the Premier League, particularly to a club like Aston Villa, could provide Chukwueze with the playing time and visibility he needs to regain his form.

"It's a league that perfectly suits his profile. He has the qualities to establish himself at an ambitious top-10 club. Unfortunately, his lack of playing time at AC Milan has affected his confidence.

"He plays too little, and that limits his impact. In January, he was close to leaving, but Milan held him back at the last minute. Today, it's clear he must seriously consider leaving at the end of the season to relaunch his career.," Martins said.

Chukwueze's current situation at AC Milan has raised concerns about his prospects. With limited playing time, he may struggle to maintain his form and potentially impact his chances of representing Nigeria at the African Cup of Nations in Morocco.
