Barcelona race to the front
Before setting sights on Garcia, Barcelona’s plan was to keep Wojciech Szczęsny for one more season and have Marc Andre Ter Stegen reinstated as first-choice goalkeeper.
However, as Pulse Sports reported, the Blaugrana have identified the unique market opportunity Garcia provides and have now entered the race for the signature.
They have raced into the lead for his signature and are prepared to trigger his €25 million release clause immediately should the player accept their proposal of first gong on loan to Valencia while Ter Stegen and Szczesny battle it out for first choice next season.

What Garcia said
The Blaugrana have to contend with more than their rivalry with Espanyol in the bud to convince Garcia; the player’s ambition is also in play, as he has no interest in going out on loan, according to reports.
Asked how he is handling all the attention from suitors in an interview with TV3, Garcia responded by saying that he was calm and was aware he had a choice to make.
“In the end, football, all the time, there is news is coming out, things are coming out. Until it becomes reality… It’s not always like that,” Garcia said.
“But well, I’m telling you, I’m very calm and then whatever has to be decided, I’m sure I’ll think about it a lot with my people and choose what will be best for me… and it will no doubt be like that.”
