Enzo Maresca has reflected on how his team crashed out of the FA Cup calling it big shame.

Chelsea's head coach Enzo Maresca has expressed his disappointment after the Blues' 2-1 defeat to Brighton in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

The blues took the lead early on through an own goal by Brighton keeper Bart Verbruggen, but the Seagulls fought back to win 2-1, with goals from Georginio Rutter and Kaoru Mitoma.

What Maresca said

Maresca described the loss as a "big shame" for the club, highlighting the need for his team to learn how to win games narrowly.

The Chelsea boss acknowledged that the defeat was a setback, but emphasised the importance of focusing on the Premier League and the UEFA Conference League, where Chelsea still have a chance of winning silverware.

"We need to learn how to sometimes win a game 1-0," Maresca said in his post-match comments.

"Big clubs do that. For sure, it's a big shame for us. If there is something positive, it's that now we can be focused on the Premier League and the Conference League.

"Especially in the Premier League, hopefully we can continue our journey there. That has been very good until now, and hopefully we can finish well,” Maresca said.

Chelsea's FA Cup exit may be a disappointment, but Maresca is determined to rally his team and make a strong finish to the season.
