Liverpool's league title in 2020 was celebrated in an empty stadium due to the restrictions imposed by the coronavirus pandemic.

Mohamed Salah has declared Liverpool's second Premier League triumph, sealed in front of a roaring Anfield crowd after a dominant 5-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur, as "way better" than their first title win five years prior.

However, thousands of jubilant supporters packed Anfield to witness their team emphatically secure their 20th league crown.

What Salah said

Salah, the Premier League's leading scorer, fittingly marked the occasion with a stunning second-half goal, taking his tally for the season to an impressive 28.

Speaking to Sky Sports amidst the celebratory atmosphere, the 32-year-old Egyptian expressed his joy at sharing the title win with the Liverpool faithful.

"It's incredible. To win the Premier League with the fans is something special," Salah beamed.

He continued, "This is way better (than five years ago). 100 per cent. Without Sadio (Mane), without Jurgen and without Bobby (Roberto Firmino), without everybody... it's more special with the fans."

Salah acknowledged the changes within the squad and the managerial setup since their last title win.

"We have a different group now, a different manager, so that we've been able to show that we can do it again is something special.

"I wanted to win it at Anfield. The guys met last week to watch Arsenal versus Crystal Palace (who would have handed the title to Liverpool if they won). I didn't want to win it there, I wanted to win it at Anfield. It's something special and to be able to score and get this result is incredible," he added.

Salah has enjoyed another sensational campaign under Jurgen Klopp's successor, Arne Slot, and he praised the Dutchman's direct approach.

"He was very honest. He's Dutch, the Dutch are quite tough, but he made our lives easier because he asked immediately what he wanted you to do, which is what we did. I'm glad that we won it here," Salah said of Slot's impact.

Salah also leads the Premier League in assists with 18.
