Barcelona's manager Xavi Hernandez comments on Mourinho's verbal attack on referee Anthony Taylor.

Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez was not in agreement with Mourinho's decision to verbally attack referee Anthony Taylor for perceived injustice in the Europa League final.

The AS Roma manager was pictured sending insults the way of the English referee after the final defeat in Budapest to Sevilla.

Xavi understood that the former Chelsea boss felt aggrieved but maintained that managers have to set a positive example.

What Xavi said

The coach of the LaLiga champions was speaking in a press conference today, ahead of their final league game of the season against Celta Vigo tomorrow, when he was questioned on the incident.

Mr Hernandez, who has received a suspension this season due to yellow card accumulation, acknowledged the compulsion to result in indignation in the face of perceived injustice.

However, he stated that those impulses have to be controlled, and managers have to show good examples.

"Everyone acts as they see fit. You play a final, you feel harmed... We have to control the reactions. We have to be examples,” he said, per Relevo.

“In the same way that we ask that they not insult us, we have to be the first to preach this example Conduct is very important; I hope I never fall into this image."

Meanwhile, Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski has lent his voice to the calls for Lionel Messi to return to the club this summer, insisting that forging a partnership with the Argentina captain would be easy.
