What Inigo said
“I send my congratulations to Richi and his team of officials; they’ve been at a great level. I hope we can all do the same,” he said, per Marca.
“It’s been very unfair to reach the level [of criticism] we did before the game and we have to support them. We all fail in life and it’s hard.

“Nobody likes to be in that situation. I knew it would be complicated, with a lot of fuss around it. I’m happy for him; he’s a great guy whose professionalism never fails to meet the standard it should.”
The background
Inigo's statement came as a result of the pre-match antics from Real Madrid. Upon the announcement of Burgos as the referee for the game, Real Madrid-owned media RMTV released a compilation of all the mistakes he made in his career.
In the pre-match RFEF press conference, the official burst into tears, narrating how the targeted attack has affected his personal life. Hence, Real Madrid argued he could not be objective, as his statement suggests prejudice against them and demanded a replacement. RFEF rejected their petition.
Burgos had a fairly decent performance; however, the pressure from Real Madrid seemed to have taken its toll, as he failed to give Barcelona two stonewall penalties. And the one he did give, he overturned after VAR review, albeit justly.
But it left many asking why he was not called to the monitor to review the penalty incidents involving Pau Cubarsi and Ferran Torres.
