Saliba agrees new contract

The 22-year-old has agreed to extend his contract with Arsenal after having an impressive season at the club.

Saliba's contract was set to expire in a year, putting Arsenal in danger of losing him for nothing the next summer if they did not reach a new arrangement.

According to David Ornstein on his Twitter account, “Arsenal have reached an agreement with William Saliba over a new 4yr contract.

“The Arsenal star had 12 months on the existing deal but fresh terms will tie him down until at least 2027, amid strong interest from PL + abroad. Now onto the paperwork stage”

Saliba contract extension important for Arsenal

Recent reports have confirmed that William Sailba has agreed on a new deal which is good news for the Gunners.

Saliba impressed during his time at Saint-Etienne before moving on to join Arsenal in 2019.

Saliba was a crucial member of Arsenal's title-contending team the previous season. He missed the final 11 games of the campaign due to injury, which coincided with a slump in Arsenal's play and caused Mikel Arteta's team to fall from first to second.

Saliba has agreed to sign a new contract with the North London club, joining teammates Bukayo Saka, Gabriel, Gabriel Martinelli, and Aaron Ramsdale in doing so.
