The 34-year-old Spanish international has been an integral part of Barcelona's success, having played over 450 games for the club and earning an impressive array of trophies.

LaLiga giants Barcelona has confirmed that defender Jordi Alba will be leaving the club at the end of the season, marking the end of his remarkable 11-year journey with the Catalan outfit.

The 34-year-old Spanish international has been an integral part of Barcelona's success, having played over 450 games for the club and earning an impressive array of trophies.

During his time at Barcelona, Alba has achieved great heights, including a triumphant UEFA Champions League campaign in 2015.

He has been instrumental in the club's domestic dominance, contributing to their six LaLiga titles, five Copa del Rey victories, four Spanish Super Cups, and the Club World Cup.

Alba's footballing journey began in the renowned Barcelona youth academy, La Masia. However, he left the club in 2005 and subsequently established himself as a standout player at Valencia.

In 2012, he returned to his beloved Catalan club, where he continued to showcase his exceptional skills and contribute significantly to the team's success.

Reflecting on his departure, Alba expressed his gratitude and shared his aspirations for the future, stating, "I am immensely grateful for the incredible journey I have had with Barcelona.’

“It has been an honour to wear this shirt and contribute to the club's success. Now, I look forward to new challenges and opportunities that lie ahead."

The 34-year-old left back has made 23 league appearances this season, playing a part in Barcelona's recent capture of their 27th LaLiga title.

However, a notable portion of his appearances came from the bench as manager Xavi Hernandez favoured the emerging talent of 19-year-old Alejandro Balde in the starting line-up.

Xavi, however, commended Alba's contributions and expressed his respect for the departing defender.

"Jordi Alba has been a key player for us, and his dedication and professionalism have been exemplary. He leaves behind a remarkable legacy at the club," he said.

Alba's departure from Barcelona signifies the end of an era for the Spanish defender and the club.

He joins a list of long-serving players leaving the club this season, including defensive midfielder Sergio Busquets and the retired Gerard Pique.
