Pirlo compares Italian managers says Ancelotti is not ahead of Pirlo.

Andrea Pirlo reveals that he does not believe Ancelotti is better than Conte, saying the Real Madrid manager cannot be placed ahead of the former Tottenham boss and two others.

The 43-year-old was under the tutelage of Carlo at AC Milan but does not believe the four-time Champions League winner is the best manager from his country, preferring three other managers over him.

What he said

The former Juventus manager, who now holds a coaching role in Turkey with Fatih Karagumruk, was speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport about the best Italian manager.

When asked who he thought the best Italian manager was, he mentioned that Ancelotti has won the most trophies, but says he is not ahead of Conte, Marcello Lippi, and Massimiliano Allegri, all of whom he played under in his days as a footballer.

Pirlo: "Number one? Due to his human and technical qualities, Ancelotti has won more victories than anyone else and in all the championships, but how can you put him ahead of Lippi, Conte, or Allegri? They are different. Good game or not: who wins rules," per Marca.

What he said about Pep

The 2006 World Cup winner was full of Guardiola's praise, saying the Spanish boss is unique and an innovator.

"Pep is unique, he always loves to innovate,” he said.

“However, football is becoming more and more physical, and you have to keep up to date with everything. Perhaps even for the lesser-known."

Meanwhile, Antonio Conte, who Pirlo rates so highly, has been fired by Spurs after an explosive interview.

Tottenham have announced that Antonio Conte has left his role as manager by mutual consent, and his assistant Cristian Stellini will take over until the end of the season.

Conte took the Tottenham job during the 2021/22 season and helped steady the ship, clinching Champions League qualification. He has now left the role by mutual consent.
