Real Madrid needed a late goal from one of their youngsters to clinch a victory over Mallorca.

Real Madrid left it late, with 20-year-old Jacobo Ramon scoring late to complete Real Madrid's comeback in a 2-1 victory over Mallorca.

Los Bermellones scored first, a goal that must have been cheered loudly in Catalonia, as failure to win for Real Madrid would have confirmed Barcelona as title winners.

However, Kylian Mbappe equalised, his 28th of the season, taking him three goals beyond Robert Lewandowski in the Pichichi race, and Ramon scored the winner.

The match began promisingly for the visitors, with Endrick's early one-on-one chance thwarted by Leo Roman's sharp reflexes. However, Mallorca seized the initiative when Martin Valjent capitalised on a Dani Ceballos error, unleashing a powerful shot into the far corner.

Despite Jude Bellingham and Luka Modric's efforts being denied by Roman's exceptional goalkeeping, Real Madrid persisted. The hosts' goalkeeper had an impressive first half, making multiple saves.

The deadlock was finally broken in the 68th minute when Modric's pass set up Kylian Mbappe for a clinical finish. Roman continued to defy Real Madrid's attacks, but the team's determination ultimately paid off. Jesus Vallejo headed the ball towards Ramon, who slotted home the winner in the dying minutes, keeping Real's title hopes alive.

Although Real Madrid's late surge reduced the gap to the top to four points, Barcelona's victory at Espanyol would secure the league title.
