The Lagos Supremacy Cup is a scouting competition

Lagos-owned club 36 Lion won the maiden edition of the Lagos Supremacy Cup Scouting Tournament.

36 Lion defeated Spartan FC 4-3 on penalties at the Mobolaji Arena, Onikan in Lagos.

In the game which ended in a 1-1 draw at the end of regular time, Olawumi Lateef gave Lion the lead just before the break while Ayo Adele leveled for Spartan from the spot just after the resumption of the second half.

Spartans lost their fourth and final kick to hand 36 Lion the trophy as they won 4-3 to emerge as winners.

Earlier, Abayomi Joshua and Solomon Agbalaka each scored twice in the first half to help Broad City defeat Dino SC 2-1 and earn third place in the competition. Sunday Godwin scored the game-winning goal for Dino SC late in the contest.

The Lagos Supremacy Scouting Tournament was organized by 36 Lions in conjunction with Diamond Sports.

I am satisfied with the grassroots development - Organiser

36 Lion Chairman Hajj Gafar said he is satisfied with the development of football at the grassroots.

Hajj Gafar confirmed that the Lagos Supremacy Cup will be an annual program that comes up every March and April.

He said, “I am very satisfied with the quality of play we witnessed from every team, football is at the grassroots, I would say we are satisfied and we got what we were looking for.”

Supremacy Cup Scouting Tournament

The four days scouting program had ten teams in participation which included eventual winners 36 Lion, Dino SC, SGFC Athletics, MS Success, CATS, ASQ, Broad City, Spartan, lekki Junior Stars, and TCCG.
