Napoli are set to compete for the signature of Nigerian striker Victor Boniface with fellow Serie A clubs.

Clubs in Serie A are reportedly interested in landing Super Eagles-eligible star Victor Boniface.

The 22-year-old Akure-born striker is one of the most in-form strikers in Europe this season, with his performances for Union Saint-Gilloise in the Europa League not going unnoticed. Napoli are one of the teams interested, but they are expected to rival fellow Italian teams for his signature, according to reports.

The Italian interest in Boniface

According to reports from GetfootballNewsItaly, Napoli, Lazio, and Milan are interested in signing the Nigerian striker.

Napoli are said to be gearing up for an Osimhen exit and have reportedly marked his compatriot as a possible replacement.

But they will have to battle Milan, who are expected to be in the market for a new striker in the summer, with Giroud's age and the inconsistencies of Ante Rebic and Divock Origi, who could both leave in the summer.

Lazio have also been in the market for a while for a reliable deputy for Ciro Immobile, and the USG striker is on their list of targets for the summer.

Why they want him

The former Bodo/Glimt striker powered USG past Union Berlin in the Europa League, scoring twice, including a potential goal of the season—the goal already won the Europa League goal of the week.

He has scored 19 goals in 43 games this season, and 10 of those goals came in European games—five in the Europa League and five in the Champions League qualifying round.

A move is imminent

As we reported in detail here, Boniface is expected to make a move in the upcoming transfer window, according to reports.

The 22-year-old has been sensational for Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise this season and was particularly immense in helping them advance into the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals.

Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that Victor Boniface is expected to make a move this summer after an impressive season so far for USG.

The Akure-born striker is said to be worth around €10–15 million, but that could go up if his strong performances coincide with a deeper run for USG in the Europa League.
