Jose Peseiro's starting 11 against Guinea Bissau has been released, and Iheanacho and Ndidi start from the bench.

Jose Peseiro has named his starting lineup for the AFCON 2024 qualifier clash against Guinea-Bissau in Abuja.

There were casualties from the disappointing 1-0 first-leg defeat in Abuja, with Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho dropped from the start.

Nigeria are facing off against Guinea-Bissau at 5:00 pm West African time in the second-leg of their doubleheader against the Djurtus. After a disappointing first-leg loss in Abuja, the Super Eagles will look to get their revenge in Guinea-Bissau.

The Super Eagles have dropped to second place in AFCON qualifying Group A, after losing to Guinea-Bissau who leap-frogged them and will seek to get a win away from home, to reclaim their top spot in the group.  

The second-leg of the doubleheader kicks off in less than an hour. The Portuguese manager has now named the 11 players who will start against the Djurtus.

Only the full-backs, Bright Osayi-Samuel and Zaidu Sanusi alongside goalkeeper Francis Uzoho retain their place in the lineup from the first-leg, with Kevin Akpoguma and Calvin Bassey making way for Semi Ajayi and Kenneth Omeruo, the captain of the day.

Wilfred Ndidi is dropped for Frank Onyeka, while Alex Iwobi reprises his role in midfield. Moses Simon is preferred to Ademola Lookman today, and Chukwueze retains his spot.
