According to reports, Chelsea have identified a replacement for contract rebel Mendy.

Edouard Mendy is increasingly linked with a move out of Chelsea, with both parties at a contract impasse. The Blues are now said to have their eyes set on a possible replacement.

Chelsea line Mendy replacement

Chelsea's goalkeeper situation continues to raise questions, with Mendy's contract situation unresolved and Kepa, who previously fell out of favour despite the record transfer fee he was signed for, assuming the number one position.

The two-time Champions League winners are expected to make a move to bring in a player in the position, and reports have surfaced revealing where their interests lie.

Italian outlet, Gazzetta Dello Sport, reports that Chelsea are interested in Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana and are said to have made inquiries about the player.

However, the player is said to be uninterested in moving away from Inter Milan, as he only recently moved there from Ajax.

Chelsea are expected to face competition from Manchester United, who are expected to be in the market and are said to have also made enquiries for the goalkeeper.

Onana has been impressive this season, and despite Inter falling by a huge margin behind Napoli, his performances have helped the Nerrazurri reach the Champions League quarter-finals.

The Cameroonian has kept 14 clean sheets in all competitions this season, and according to Fbref, he ranks in the 98th percentile for save percentage.

Mendy's contract situation

As we reported earlier, Chelsea are said to have opened the door to a Mendy exit as both parties are yet to reach an agreement.

Mendy is said to want a significant salary increase, which Chelsea are reportedly unwilling to match and are willing to let go of the Senegalese in a bid to cut down their large squad.
