On Monday, Barcelona superstar Alexia Putellas retained her The Best FIFA Women’s Player title at a glamorous ceremony held in Paris, France.

The selection criteria for the women's players of the year considered the achievements of 14 players during the period from August 7, 2021, to July 31, 2022.

For The Best FIFA Women’s Coach title, England's Dutch manager Sarina Wiegman was named as the winner ahead of Lyon's Sonia Bomapstor and Brazil's Pia Sundhage.

While these three made the final shortlist announced on February 9, Chelsea's Emma Hayes, Germany's Martina Voss-Tecklenburg and Canada's Bev Priestman were other women's team coaches originally nominated for the title.
