Nigeria's defeat to Colombia becomes the Super Falcons' seventh consecutive loss dating back to a penalty shootout loss to Morocco, at the WAFCON in 2022.
Despite the teams' 1-0 defeat to Colombia, Super Falcons head coach Randy Waldrum has praised his side for putting up a better performance in their game on Wednesday, than they did against Mexico three days earlier.
The Super Falcons have been in Leon, Mexico since this week, for a four-team invitational tournament: the Revelations Cup, which started on Wednesday.
The competition serves as a part of Nigeria's preparations as they get ready to alongside others, represent Africa at the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.
Waldrum praise performance, highlight one fault
In their second game on Saturday, 2022 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Silver Ball winner Linda Caicedo scored the only goal of the game Colombia subjected Nigeria to a 1-0 defeat.
It became Nigeria's seventh consecutive loss dating back to a penalty shootout loss (1-1 after extra time) to Morocco, in the semifinal of the 2022 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Despite the defeat, Waldrum revealed that he was happy with the team's performance, against Colombia, "What we have to take from these matches is, everything is for preparation for the World Cup," the American said in his post-match conference on Saturday.

"I thought we were better today than we were against Mexico in the first game, I thought the team is a little bit more settled.
"I was disappointed in our final third, in our attack. We were playing very much around the parameter and were not connecting. I think we would have created more problems if we had gotten more service in the box because we're so good in the air.
"The game was better. We were a little bit more better than against Mexico. I think we made improvements from the first game. There's still much work to be done.
Nigeria in last position in Revelations Cup
The Super Falcons will take on Costa Rica in their final game in the Revelations Cup, at midnight on Wednesday.
With the back-to-back defeat in Leon, Nigeria sits at the base of the four-team table, with Colombia, temporarily leading with four points pending the outcome of the match between Mexico and Costa Rica.
