Kit manufacturing giants Nike returned as Nigeria’s official kit sponsors in April 2015, following the departure of rivals Adidas.
Top Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) officials have paid a visit to the Nike headquarters in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, in a bid to show their appreciation for their sponsors.
Discussions were reportedly centered around the kit manufacturing giants' production of sports gear for Nigeria's national teams since its latest partnership with the NFF, and assurances by the football-governing body.
Present at Nike’s Amsterdam headquarters were President of the NFF Ibrahim Musa Gusau, and the General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi who met with Nike's chieftain Uwe Gartner, who had replaced Tina Salminen as Sports Marketing Director (Africa).

Busy year for Nigerian football, Nike
The 2023 calendar year will see the Super Falcons participate in the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, the Super Eagles continue their quest to qualify for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) by participating in four qualifying matches, and Nigeria's Olympic Eagles’ participate in the U-23 AFCON qualifying matches and tournament proper.
The year will also see Nigeria's Flying Eagles’ participate at the U-20 AFCON in Egypt in a bid to pick a ticket to the FIFA U-20 World Cup, holding later in the year in Indonesia.

The Golden Eaglets will also attempt a similar feat at the U-17 AFCON event in Algeria as they look to qualify for this year's FIFA U-17 World Cup in Peru.

The 2015 agreement which was signed in London, has since, been renewed a couple of times.
In a first round of sponsor appreciation by the new NFF administration, the NFF President and General Secretary, along with the Director of Communications Ademola Olajire, met with top officials of a number of the company's partners and sponsors in Lagos, including MTN, Premier Lotto, AITEO Group, and Stanbic IBTC.
