The Angels disappointed their fans at home in their first game back in the NWFL after the break.
Rivers Angels coach Edwin Okon has called on his players to wake up from their blunder following a disappointing outing in the NWFL.
Angels were forced to share the spoils with their visitors Royal Queens after a 1-1 draw at the Uniport Sports centre in Port Harcourt.
Aguadze Juanita opened the scoring when she put Angels ahead from the penalty spot in the 34th minute.
But Okon’s ladies failed to hold on to the lead till the end as Obadun Azezat ensured a share of the spoils when she netted an equaliser in added time for the Queens.
Okon calls on his players to wake up
Speaking to journalists after the game, Okon made a clarion call to his players.
According to the former Super Falcons boss, he's the one under pressure and as such the players need to wake up.

"They are not playing under pressure at all. None of my ladies is under pressure,” Okon said.
“I should be the one under pressure, but I cannot transfer the pressure to them. It's just to encourage them to do what is needed.”
"We just have to wake them up, you can't fight with your tools. All we need is a little time and we just have to encourage them."
I can't question the ref
Rivers Angels conceded a rather controversial goal after the referee awarded a free kick to the visitors at a very dangerous angle.
Speaking on the goal, Okon noted that he can't question the decision of the referee but believes it was a poor call to give Royals a free kick.

"I don't have to question the referees, but that wasn't a free kick at all,” he added.
“She obviously stepped on the ball. The Referee made her decision and we can't change it."
