In FIVE matches on matchday 15, 20 goals were scored, an average of 4 per game with Beyond Limits scoring the most goals.

It was a goal-fest on the last match day in the exciting grassroots tournament, The Creative Championship, TCC.

League leaders Beyond Limits FA showed that they were indeed beyond their opponents Valiant FC following an incredible 6-goal carnage in Ikenne.

Limits FA provided the best entertainment on the day while there were other thrillers elsewhere in the TCC.

Retro

Before the game in Ikenne, both sides met in the Cup inside the Legacy Pitch, National Stadium, Surulere.

That game ended 1-0 in favour of the Remo academy boys with the winner scored in the second half.

Of course, Beyond Limits dominated that encounter that day but annoyed even their most loyal and passionate fan with their safety-first approach.

In the end, it was a deserved victory for the Ikenne kids as they easily processed to the last eight.

Back to the carnage in Ikenne

Surely, after conceding just a lone goal in the Cup, Valiant went to Ikenne confident of putting up another valiant showing against their now-familiar foes.

But after 90 minutes, Valiant left Ikenne with their shoulders severely damaged and ego thoroughly bruised after a 6-0 defeat.

Beyond Limits put on a show and once again dominated their opponents, this time, to submission as inspired by their captain, Obasi Onyebuchi.

The Onyebuchi Show

Captain fantastic Onyebuchi stole the show with a remarkable 26 minutes hat-trick to fire Limits beyond their visitors Valiant.

The youngest opened the floodgates as early as the third minute before he doubled their advantage seven minutes later with his and Beyond’s second of the day.

Wahab Hassan made it 3-0 in the 22nd minute before Onyebuchi completed his hat-trick with the goal of the day, a stunning 25-yard strike to practically seal the deal.

There would be two more goals as Limits were not satisfied as Shola Ogundana added a fifth to complete a blistering first-half display by the host.

Olude Muyideen made it 6-0 in the second half to give Beyond a comprehensive win over Valiant whose position at the bottom of the log looks stamped now.

Elsewhere;

Atlantic Business ensured that Dino FC will continue to wait for a first victory in 2023 after a five-goal thriller.

The Business boys completed a comeback win on the day thanks to an inspirational second-half performance.

Dino took a narrow 1-0 lead in the first half but two quick-fire goals in the second half from Business’s super-sub, Chinonso Onyegbulam, turned things in favour of Atlantic.

Emmanuel Victor added a third goal to double the lead for the Atlantic boys before Emmanuel Ajibola pulled one goal back for Dino late on.

Other interesting results

Sporting Lagos continued to pile on the pressure on leaders Beyond Limits with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Gbagada FC in a keenly contested battle.

Dannaz FC put on a show to put their hosts Imperial FC to the sword following a 3-1 thrashing.

Finally, Broad City are into the top four after a clean 2-0 win over Iganmu Tiger.
