The 29-year-old Super Falcon becomes the eighth Nigerian player in the Spanish women's top-flight league this season.

Super Falcons midfielder Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene has completed her switch to Spanish Liga F, Levante Las Planas on loan for the remainder of the season.

The move comes after Okobi-Okeoghene - who had spent her last seven seasons playing in Sweden's Damallsvenskan - left Eskilstuna United in December 2022.

The 29-year-old becomes the eighth Nigerian player in the Spanish women's top-flight league this season.

Levante Las Planas announce Okobi-Okeoghene's arrival

The Spanish club in an official announcement revealed that the Nigerian midfielder will join them on a loan deal that will see her play for them until the remainder of the 2022/23 Liga F season.

Okobi-Okeoghene, sharing the news on her social media said: It’s official @fclevantelasplanasfem my new home."

The move sees the talented midfielder become the second Nigerian at the club, joining Rita Chikwelu who has so far, established herself as an integral member of the squad.

Both players had featured as regulars in Nigeria's midfield at the 2022 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), as the Super Falcons finished fourth at the tournament, and picked up a ticket to the 2022 FIFA Women's World Cup.

Super Falcons in Spain's Liga F rise to 8

Okobi-Okeoghene's arrival in Spain also sees the number of Super Falcons players in the Liga F rise to 8.

Beyond herself and Chikwelu at Club Levante Las Palnas, the Spanish women's top flight also serves as home to Asisat Oshoala (Barcelona Fermini), Rasheedat Ajibade (Atletico de Madrid Femenino), Gift Monday (UDG Tenerife), Toni Payne (Sevilla), Osinachi Ohale (Deportivo Alaves).

Okobi-Okeoghene spent five years at Eskilstuna United following her arrival from another Swedish club, Vittsjö Gymnastik. She has also previously played in the United States with Washington Spirit.
