Super Falcons striker Uchenna Kanu has reportedly left Mexican club Tigres UANL to join Racing Louisville in America

Nigerian international Uchenna Kanu has reportedly joined American club Racing Louisville FC in what is a record-breaking transfer.

The Super Falcons striker only joined Mexican Tigres UANL in 2022 and is now set to leave the club after just one year.

According to reports in Mexico, the transfer is worth $150,000, making it the biggest transfer between the Mexican MX Women's league and the US Championship.

It is a sweet return to the United States of America for Kanu who excelled during her college years at the Southeastern Fire in Florida.

The Abia-born attacker also spent two years at Pensacola, also in Florida, before leaving for Spain to join Sevilla in 2020.

The 25-year-old had a short but excellent time in Mexico where she scored 23 goals in 39 games for Tigres, leading the Amazons to two titles – the Apertura 2022 and the Copa Amazonas.

Racing Louisville were impressed by her record and have moved swiftly to bring the Nigerian striker to the Lynn Family Stadium.

The move is still pending official confirmation from both clubs and the player involved but multiple reports from reliable sources have given details about the transfer.

Apart from the huge transfer fee, the American side reportedly will also pay an additional $30,000 to the five-time Liga MX champions if Kanu scores 12 or more goals this season.

In the agreement which is a player-plus-cash deal, Louisville will also send 22-year-old youngster Riley Parker to Tigres on loan for the season.
