A recent release from Steam has revealed the incredible amount of data downloaded from the service in 2022.

Valve’s Steam Year in Review 2022 stat shows significant improvement in active users

Concurrent Users on Steam

The company said an average 83,000 new users logged in to buy games every day of 2022, while citing titles like Call of Duty, Lost Ark and Elden Ring as the top-played games when they released in 2022. A feat that definitely made it among the top 100 busiest airports in the world.

One of the most ridiculous stat that Valve shared earlier this month is the amount of data Steam users go through.

Via the report, the company says that gamers downloaded over 44.7 exabytes of data(44.7 billion gigabytes).

Adding so many new users means constant maintenance of our global content delivery network. Our total content delivery increased 36% from 2021, for a total of 44.7 exabytes downloaded to players. And just how much is 44.7 exabytes? About as much data as if every one of the 8 billion people on planet Earth downloaded a 5.5 gigabyte game.
