The San Antonio Spurs recorded a 110 - 99 victory against the Indiana Pacers in an NBA fixture played in the early hours of Friday, February 3, 2023.

The Pacers chasing a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference started off hot to take the first quarter by nine points.

The Spurs put up a 31-point second quarter to reduce the deficit to two points at the halftime break.

It was in the third quarter the Spurs took control of the game, led by forward Jeremy Sochan they put up 31 points and held the Pacers to just 16.

The Spurs went from a two-point deficit to taking a 13-point lead going into the fourth quarter.

Both sides traded buckets late in the game as the Spurs held on to defeat the Pacers by 11 points in front of their home fans.

Nwora and Bassey shine as Spurs beat Pacers

Two Nigerians featured in the NBA game between the Spurs and the Pacers.

Nigerian-American professional basketball player Jordan Nwora came off the bench for the Indiana Pacers.

The 24-year-old Nwora continues to do well for the Pacers since he joined via trade from the Milwaukee Bucks.

He featured for 27 minutes and stuffed the stat sheet with 10 points, three rebounds, four assists, one steal, and one block

Nwora made just four of his 10 shots, including one of four from three-point range but was perfect from the free-throw line.

Nigerian basketball player Charles Bassey was also part of the second unit for the San Antonio Spurs.

The 22-year-old Bassey featured for 17 minutes and recorded six points, five rebounds, two assists, and two blocks.

He made three of his four shots but missed his only free throw in an impressive outing.

Nwora returns to action when the Pacers travel to face the Chicago Bulls while Bassey will next turn up for the Spurs in a Texas rivalry against the Houston Rockets.
