The 23-year-old who was competing in her first race since April, won her 100m section in an impressive time of 11.03s (0.8) - a huge improvement from her Season's Best (SB) performance of 11.27s.

She outclassed the rest of the field as Shannon Ray finished second in 11.32s, while Candace Hill was third in 11.35s.

Chukwuma's statement time is the third fastest by a Nigerian woman this year behind Tima Godbless (10.91s) and Favour Ofili (10.99s). Also, if certified by World Athletics, it means she has hit the qualification standard for the Tokyo 2025 World Championships.

The talented sprinter who was a standout student-athlete for Texas Tech University and is now signed professionally with Nike, has been one of Nigeria's longest-serving track stars, having progressed from youth to senior level winning multiple international medals for the country.

Chukwuma competed at the Paris Olympic Games, where she reached the semifinals of the women's 100m event, and currently, she's the second fastest Nigerian woman in history behind Blessing Okagbare (10.79s) with personal best of 10.88s.
