Tara Davis-Woodhall won the women's long jump event at the Stockholm Diamond League, equaling the meeting record.

In her first Diamond League competition of the season, Olympic champion Tara Davis-Woodhall soared to a brilliant mark to win the women's long jump event in Stockholm.

The American jump queen in her opening round leap flew to a Season's Best (SB) of 7.05m, which equaled Galina Chistyakova's 36-year-old meeting record.

Davis-Woodhall laid down the gauntlet with the mark, which was impossible for the world-class field to surpass as European indoor champion Larissa Iapichino of Italy came closest with 6.90m in the third round and the USA’s Jasmin Moore was the next best with 6.76m.

Meanwhile, on the track, world champion Femke Bol delivered a brilliant meeting record of 52.11s, just 0.04s outside Sydney Mclaughlin-Levrone’s world lead to win the women’s 400m Hurdles.

Veteran hurdler Dalilah Muhammad was second in 52.91s, while Panama’s Gianna Woodruff was third in 53.99s.

“This is one of my favourite stadiums, so to take the Stadium Record makes me very happy,” said Bol in her post-race interview.

“I am not in my best shape yet so to take the victory is especially good. I was very focused on the middle section of the race today and that went well as I pushed ahead at that stage," she continued.

“A race is never the same as training and it is only my third race of the season so I am still feeling some lactic but I am starting to feel the hurdles better every race and getting into race shape."

In the women's 100mH, USA's Grace Stark set a meeting record of 12.33s (+1.4m/s) ahead of world indoor bronze medallist Ackera Nugent of Jamaica in 12.37s and European indoor silver medallist Nadine Visser of the Netherlands in 12.49s.
